Mystic Pizza, pool porn, and PJs for Aja's honeymoon
Links we sent our friends #110 feat. Youngna Park
Hi, happy Monday! Aja here. I’m back from a lovely weekend in Portland, Maine visiting my friend Suz and her smiley nine-month-old. We swam1, tried every coffee shop in a three-mile radius, ate sushi and chatted on Suz’s porch, and took a barre class led by our friend Jess. It’s always so fun (and honestly, reassuring) to see how my friends have integrated parenting into their lives.
I’m a big fan of this week’s guest for similar reasons…
Brooklyn-based
is a woman of many talents: Writer, product advisor, photographer, occasional film producer, and mom of two. Despite those accolades, she’s anything but intimidating. Her newsletter, , is a highly relatable and often hilarious stream of musings for parents, recommendations for kids, and thoughts on staying sane while raising children in the modern world. We read every issue…Youngna’s Links:
I appreciated how to take a compliment from artist Mike Monteiro (I’m so bad at just saying “thank you”!)
One scoop of ice cream. A handful of chips. Apple slices and peanut butter. Some yogurt. These perfectly small bowls are the right size for them all. (Aliza: I love East Fork so much.)
This podcast episode tells the story behind Goodnight Moon and its incredible creator Margaret Wise Brown. (I’m obsessed with children’s books and share recommendations on Instagram.)
This mesh cropped tank top is my favorite for working out: Just the right length, great cut, highly breathable.
The Road to Tender Hearts is a heartwarming and hilarious dark comedy about a man who finds himself on a cross-country road trip to find his high school crush with two orphaned kids, his daughter, and a cat in tow. (Aja: I’m on a library waitlist for this one!)

Just watched Mystic Pizza for the first time. What was I waiting for?! It was so charming and fun. (Aliza: There is truly no bad Julia Roberts movie in my book.)
This is a handy website for finding new authors: Just type in the name of a writer you love and see who’s most similar.
I bought this puzzle after Sam and I finished a different one from the same brand at a (very hip) local coffee shop. It’s so aesthetic and satisfying — maybe the first puzzle I haven’t minded leaving out.
Got these in red “for my honeymoon” (yes we’ve entered that stage of wedding planning where I buy things I want under the guise of my bachelorette/wedding/honeymoon). They’ll go the distance, though; like my winter Lunya pajamas, they’re simultaneously floaty and sexy.

I want to be like these women when I grow up.
- brilliantly summarizes why CBS’ cancellation of The Late Show with Stephen Colbert is really, really scary: “How many institutions more hallowed than talk shows will fall to protect a very thin-skinned man who will stop at nothing to censor what people say about him on television?”
A perfectly packaged shampoo/conditioner duo that feels much more luxurious than its price tag.
Pool porn, anyone? (Gift link.)
What's a movie you watched for the first time recently that you can’t believe you waited so long to see? Aliza is still on a TV break (!!) but “movies don’t count,” and I (Aja) would love ideas on what to watch (or re-watch!)

Suz’s friend rented a pool via Swimply — which I’ve wanted to do for ages! Need to explore Boston options. (Aliza: This is so fun! Let’s do it.)
I thought the rec for East Fork bowls was a sundae recipe and honestly it works!
I recently saw Gladiator for the first time, previously thinking it was just a "guy movie" :)
