Oh, this is so cool! It would be SO much easier to concentrate on articles if I was reading on my Kindle — I often find myself bouncing from link to link (or app to app, oops) just because I can. Thank you for sharing; I'm definitely going to use this.
They’re also rolling out a ‘corkboard’ feature where you’ll be able to move things around like you would on a corkboard and think that will be so helpful for making new connections!
I just discovered Sublime and it pulls all your highlighted quotes from kindle (I’ve had a kindle for a while and love to highlight so it was quite the archive!)
https://sublime.app/invite/h32ALDOm - I can’t DM but here is an invite link, I’ve got a couple more so feel free to comment if anyone else is interested!
I use Instapaper for my 'read later' links - both on my desktop and via their phone app. They've just recently added a tagging system, which is pretty cool. They also have an auto-sync with your kindle, and you can set the cycle timeframe to which the articles sync.
Definitely going to check Instapaper out — I've realized my ideal solution has both an app and a Chrome extension, and definitely a tagging feature. Thanks Donna!
If you can believe it, I keep a google doc of links. It's so archaic, but it works!
Okay and other fun thing - i immediately clicked over to the NPR book list you linked because old bestsellers that have zero waitlist at the library are my bread and butter. An unexpected takeaway was how much book cover trends exist. I've noticed recently that current bestsellers all kind of look....similar? When I looked at the 2014 list, I noticed the same thing, except it was whatever was trendy in 2014. So interesting!
I add any sites I want to visit later to the reading list on my safari browser. Sometimes the sync is off between devices but for the most part it works really well.
For saving articles for later, do you have a Kindle? This has been a game-changer for me, I use it every day! https://www.pushtokindle.com/

More snippets than whole articles but I didn’t know about pushtokindle.com until SG’s comment so it might work for that too?!
do you pay for it? It's worth it? it looks really neat but grad school budget!
I do pay for it, it’s worth it to me. To be honest the free version is pretty cool anyway!
Great issue as always! I use the Pocket app to save my links! - LM
+1 for Pocket! so easy to install at plug-in to Google Chrome and save articles that way.
I stopped using Pocket before I picked up Omnivore and now I can't remember why... will definitely re-explore; thank you for the tip!
I once was in a habit of using Pocket and loved it when I did.
Heading to CDMX tomorrow! I’m sorry you got food poisoning :(
You're going to have an incredible time!!
NPR Book Concierge from years past is SUCH a treasure trove of recommendations! I love revisiting them from time to time.
Yesssss. It's an internet happy place for sure.
