My (random) journal rec is from Shinola (yes, the Detroit watch company!) - specifically their large linen plain journal. I also prefer unlined pages since I use it as a writing journal and an art journal, and the perfectly weighted pages stand up to collaging, doodling, you name it. Plus its the ideal size - 7x9 - so I never feel cramped or contrained by it. I've never found anything as perfect as this (and I have tried!!). It used to come in so many beautiful colors, but you can make their current black/gray colorways special with complimentary monogramming. Anyways, that's my Shinola spiel!! Thanks for all the other fun recs this week.
I save books for after the film, if I can! Otherwise I have such a picture in my head that I get sort of discombobulated when that isn't matched on screen...
I have a new 'scrip in hand, and have been avoiding the trip to Warby Parker. Decisions! Incidentally I've worn the "Ainsley" in black for 3 years, and get compliments weekly. Just today at the coffee shop, in fact.
As an expert journaler, I appreciate recs for what journals people are loving! It’s such an intentional choice and all part of the ritual/experience of journaling. The leather softcover is going on my Christmas wish list!
I love the Shop Cats instagram - it's so cute. I also love seeing my neighborhood bodega cat!
I wish I had a neighborhood bodega cat!
In a slight modification - when we used to live in DC, my dog knew all of the local bodegas w/in a 1-2 mile radius with treats...

That's sooo interesting - our brains are backwards! If I watch the film/show first, then I have that problem when I'm reading and can't get into it...
*Adds "Brimley" to Warby Parker cart.

I'm so glad, Alison! What's your usual go-to for journaling?
The Moleskine notebooks without the lines are my favorite too
