Welcome to the world of a king-sized bed!! They are life-changing and there's nothing better than finally having all the room in the world. When we upgraded, I bought another set of Casper pillows (my favorite) so we could have three rows going across and then one set of king sized pillows and shams to match our duvet cover (for those keeping score, yes - that means we have eight pillows before you even get to throw pillows). I also purchased one of those thin, long pillows to go across the bed as a throw pillow and think it's perfect for adding a bit of color to our all white bedding. Also, I personally feel like a duvet cover with texture is a must with a king because the bedding became much more of a "feature" in our room with a larger bed and this helped make it look a little more fun. Sorry if this doesn't answer your question but I'm passionate about bedding so had to share. Xo!

The texture piece is *so* smart and not something I would've organically realized (I want my home to look and feel good but often struggle to put the pieces together, if that makes sense?)

QQ: Do you keep all the pillows on the bed when you sleep? Or do you throw them overboard and then put them back on the next morning when you make the bed?

That totally makes sense. Because I stick to a largely neutral and muted palette for our home, I basically rely on different fabrics and textured pillow, blankets, rugs and other accents throughout our home. It's made our home look and feel more intentional (read: not our of a catalogue) and gives each room more character.

We put our king-sized pillows and any throw pillows on our headboard (we have a fabulously large fabric bed from Article - more texture! - that has a wide headboard that our cat sleeps on, too). The rest of our pillows (all from Casper lol) stay on the bed. I thought they would get in the way at first but they don't at all, and they actually make the bed feel much more cozy. If we couldn't put our shams on the headboard, I would probably get a bench or decent sized basket and put them in there and have a throw blanket or something in there during the day to make it look more intentional. Hope that helps!

Loved the Alisha feature. Also laughed because "Is she talking yet?" is totally something I (a non-mom) would ask, haha.

Parachute down pillows are my go-to if you like a super soft, airy pillow!

Same, Teresa, same. 😅 On the pillow spectrum I skew firm... but will share with Sam, who's a light and floaty pillow person. Thank you!

I'm 37(!) but I feel mentally in my 20s! I don't know if it has to do with living in London and being single, but I think a lot of what's 'normal' for any age is dependent on the wider culture/lifestyle...

King sized beds are game changer! My husband and I started using separate duvets and I have been sleeping SO much better. I worried it would be un-romantic at first and got weird about it, but that was all in my head. It takes zero effort to move between duvets. We also got the Casper Glow Lights which give off a warm tone and are completely customizable for each side of the bed (we use them as our alarm clocks - no sound just light). I'm excited for you! xx

Can I ask which duvets you use? I want to do this on our king but bed I'm worried that two smaller duvets will be a lot of fabric? I have sensory issues where I don't love feeling a ton of weight from blankets or duvets and worry it will just be a LOT of fabric.

Totally fair! I don’t think you’ll love my answer because we each use a King size duvet so there is definitely a lot of fabric happening! But when we have guests I like to make the bed properly so we pile one of top of the other to make it look pretty - lol. My husband uses the super light cooling Casper duvet but I use a heavier feather one because I enjoy more weight and run a bit cooler.

Thank you! I may just need to investigate smaller European duvets that are made for this type of thing and see how that goes. But I feel like having separate duvets would increase the quality of my sleep so much so I really want to try to make this work.
