I'm really glad I kissed a lot of men and women in my 20s. Dating a lot helped me hone in on what I actually want in a life partner.
I'm glad I started wearing more sunscreen in my later 20s (although wish I could go back in time and put on even more).
I'm glad I took a four month solo road trip, glad I trained for a week-long bike trip and actually completed it, glad I read "The Color Purple" which changed my entire theology, glad I actually did my readings in Grad school, glad I wrote a lot of letters to a lot of people, glad I quit my job when I was 24 and went to Divinity school.
This list gave me all the feels. May 20s taught me to love the parts of me that I previously critiqued. I wished I was thinner and then, boom, had two babies within 2 years. I disliked my nose and then, boom, both of those babies were born with it and I love it on them so much.
One of the top things I’m grateful I did in my 20s is quitting a job that was bad for me and leaving a city I didn’t love. I had no plan, but I was willing to figure things out as I went. It turned out better than I could’ve imagined.
Lived abroad! For a long time! I spent three years in Thailand in my 20s and the older I get the more grateful I am to my younger self for having the guts to do that.
Love this list!! Especially love the one about you moving in with friends vs. your significant other. The best years of my life were spent living in tiny apartments with my friends in my 20s.
Those tiny plastic cups in the karaoke room reaaaaaally brought me back to the many, many $3 well drinks I downed in my 20s...!
When I was 23, I moved to NYC with no job, two suitcases, and a subletted shoebox "room" in a railroad apartment with a friend of a friend I barely knew. I was broke and sometimes a bit of a trainwreck (lol duh) but those seven years were the most liberating and transformative of my life. Truly unforgettable!
The one thing I'm glad I did in my 20s was holding on to daydreaming.
At 33, I'm pleased to share that most of those "daydreams" are my reality. But sometimes, I fear I'll eventually wake up from this dream back to the depressed and lost 25-year-old girl.
omg the dentist thing is SO REAL. Find a good one, I will talk anyone's ear off about my dental nightmares at mere mention of the word tooth. Beware! Love this list <3

Wow, I'm so impressed with the maturity of your 20-something self! Especially when it came to your 401k! 👏
Hah! I definitely didn’t start at 21…. but at some point I figured it out. Doing my best 😅

What an incredible experience. I’m sure it’s all made you the person you are today too!
Very much appreciate this as a 29-year-old approaching 30 this summer!
Welcome welcome (almost) to your thirties!!

Lol! Same. Game changer to find a good dentist.
Feeling inspired to make my own list :) a bit therapeutic
Yes yes!! It was such a nice exercise. A fun one to do with a friend too.
This is fantastic! Love it! I'm glad I cultivated and maintained close relationships with my girlfriends, who are now basically my sisters.
Ditto! 🥹
This is such a fun read. I loved learning more about you! I’m also originally from the South!
Aw thank you! Where are you from??
