A spin on summer meals, floral overalls, and an essay on aging
Links we sent our friends #101 feat. Beyoncé…
Hi from Chicago! My family and I (Aliza) reunited here to see Beyoncé on Sunday night. We had the best weekend. One of my favorite parts of Sunday was walking into Soldier Field at golden hour — an impromptu runway, with enough glitter, stiletto boots, denim on denim... and, of course, ass-less chaps for an army.
My #1 recommendation this week: If Cowboy Carter is coming to your city, don’t miss it.

A fun way to boost summer meals.
This is a brilliant essay on aging and the female urge to self-flagellate by
. A favorite line:“In order to dismantle the misogyny that suffocates the possibilities of life for everyone, I implore women to take a good look at what scares them about looking their age. It says a lot that this is the fear I see arise again and again. Did being or looking young ever save any woman from the relentless cruelty of misogyny?”
So many good books this year! I borrowed Julian Borger’s family Holocaust memoir, I Seek a Kind Person, from my in-laws last weekend. (I’m actually thinking about quitting TV this summer until I catch up on my TBR list…) (Aja: I fear this will be life-changing for you and I’ll be influenced into doing it too…)
Is this the colorful bath mat I’ve been searching for? (h/t

Tickled by this Baggu for your Baggu. More practical (but still adorable): This everyday bag. (Aliza: My bag weakness has been ignited!!)
I’m on a real overalls kick. This Free People pair is great, as is this fun floral option that I rented via Rent the Runway.
What makes you happy? A NYT quiz that, strangely, made me feel happier just taking it.
I’ve been skipping the long library queues for buzzy books by listening to the audiobooks on Spotify (they’re free with a Premium plan!) Careless People, the Facebook tell-all, was both juicy and disturbing. Now I’m listening to Care and Feeding, a food world memoir from a woman who was Bourdain’s right hand person for a decade.
Stocking up on this during the anniversary sale. The brand sent me a sample six months ago, and I was sad to finish it! It smells heavenly and really, truly moisturizes. (Code: HBDHANNI.)

I (Aliza) love concerts — especially at a great outdoor venue. Some of my favorite memories include seeing Dolly Parton at Ravinia Festival, an outdoor music venue in Chicago, and The Revivalists at Colorado’s famous Red Rocks. (Aja: Red Rocks is on my bucket list!) Last night’s Beyoncé show is definitely up there, too…
What concerts are you most excited for this summer?

My first Cowboy Carter show is Thursday and I cannot wait!!!!!!
Ok, I think that floral baggu needs to be my entire personality this summer. It looks like it fits a decent amount, and I can still sling it over my body while managing two little kids - thank you for flagging this gem!
Also just SMITTEN with those floral overalls, adorable!
