Hi, there! Aliza here.
I know the world doesn’t revolve around me, but maybe, just maybe, the universe was trying to tell me something when Jude turned one with a Dunkin’ Donuts themed rager on Sunday,1 my opportunity to lean unabashedly into obnoxious millennial motherhood; and just days earlier, New York Magazine published a cover story titled: Adorable Little Detonators: Our friendship survived bad dates, illness, marriage, fights. Why can’t it survive your baby?
Yes, I’m the problem. It’s me.
My emotions around the article are complex. Davis cites research finding parents’ friendships are most fragile when their children are around three (!!).
Aja and I have covered this topic before — and in many ways, it was the genesis for platonic love. I know I’m naive about what comes next, but I’d like to think we can do more than just coexist. (Aja: me too!!)
As always, we’re sharing recommendations and content in this week’s links that span our different moods and life stages.
And a reminder: our links are always affiliate-free and for things we genuinely love. We want you to feel 100% confident in everything we share.

I have two podcast recommendations this week! First, in light of said “Adorable Little Detonators” article, I really enjoyed listening to
in conversation with her best friend, Michelle, about when Haley let Michelle know she was trying to get pregnant (requires a Maybe Baby subscription).
And last week’s Daily episode on the U.S. Auto Industry — in advance of the strike that began on Friday — reminded me that I should make time to listen to The Daily more often again.2
For you: An Etsy shop with a soothing aesthetic and vintage basics I might just need this fall.
For baby: The pajama sets I’m in love with.
And, the accuracy of this Tweet.

Next time you hit minute 20 of scrolling through streaming platforms and still can’t find anything, pull up Mood Movie Match. After asking you a few questions about how you’re feeling, it’ll give you a highly specific movie recommendation.3
Is that restaurant gonna suck? I laughed out loud at “Neon signs and a fake-ivy wall: The ultimate in millennial-coded Instagram design.”
This might be the perfect t-shirt.
I also have some podcast recs this week. Hang Up is a reality dating show happening entirely over the phone — like Love Is Blind minus the abusive conditions (!) or marriage finish line. It’s fun, low-stakes, and the perfect complement to a long walk. Shoutout to
and at for recommending!4It feels like everyone’s talking about, obsessing over, and replaying Olivia Rodrigo’s sophomore album Guts. (Aliza: For good reason!) I loved this Into It episode dissecting the album song-by-song; the clips played throughout the episode bring the conversation to life. By the end, I was itching to play Guts.
On Thursday, the wonderful
talks with us about wellness fads and getting in touch with her body’s needs.Love,
A + A
As long as we can all agree it’s appropriate to refer to a backyard gathering with Jersey Mike’s catering and donuts as a “rager.”
Like many of us, I took an extended hiatus during the pandemic.
My latest rec was Josie and the Pussycats.
And keep an eye out for more great picks from the Rich Text duo, coming soon to Links we sent our friends!
Can confirm that is the perfect t shirt!!
THAT CAKE. 😍 Happy belated birthday, Jude!
