Meeting my friends’ parents is my absolute favorite!! I love an errand date — it’s so low pressure and weirdly fun. Something about a friend agreeing to go to Target for Benadryl, get a car wash, and drop off some packages at FedEx together just makes you feel… closer?!

I feel this way too!! I think it's getting to see your friend in a different context (and vice versa). Also so nice to jazz up an otherwise boring activity.

pottery classes have cemented many a friendship for me and helped introduce my friends from different parts of my life to each other :)

In the summers I have a biking gang group text. If someone is going on a bike ride they drop when and where and whoever is free goes. Usually ends with a beer or milkshake at a trail side place while the sun sets :-)

Thanks for including me! I love all these ideas. Especially the bike/book crawl!? Two of my favorite things. I’m pinning that idea for a nice summer weekend 😊

This was such a fun read! There’s something special about getting a peek into someone’s friendships.

I second Emma’s friend date idea! A few months ago, I went to see the Broadway show Juliet with some friends and it was an absolute blast! I’ve also enjoyed going to author talks with friends. It’s nice to learn something new together.

P.S. : Aliza, I’ve been toying with the idea of starting a local craft club too! I loved the collage postcards you had for sale at your PL event.

Thanks, Amelia! 💜 Ahhh yes, wasn’t & Juliet a blast? I’m a Broadway nut and that’s one of my favorite recent ones too.

Love all of these ideas! My friend Sara is extremely good at finding interesting things for us to do together—this weekend we’re doing a self defense class together! Last time, we did an escape room 😅 This is inspiring me for our next meetup.

Like Aliza, I’m also dreaming about starting a craft club (specifically for moms!)—I live in Sonoma County which I know is full of creative women who want to share in low-stakes art and community. Now to find the time…!

WOW you and Sara sound *very* capable lolol.

I know, finding the time is the hardest part! I've been telling myself I'm going to start an Article Club (think a book club but for articles) for going on three years...

Article club! Heck yes! That would really motivate me to get through the 578563 unread articles open in my browser…

I want to start a craft night!! All those kitschy charm necklaces are at Zara right now and that seems like an easy diy with a bulk pack of charms and a spool of charm necklace chain or ribbon. I like painting, mod podge, kitschy seasonal stuff. There’s a popular craft hour at my local Starbucks but it’s sort of known that the parents always wind up completing the stuff meant for the kids
