Aliza, I can't wait to see your CLB. And Aja, I have and like the skirt, but I found that I personally prefer an elastic waist for my summer skirts, fwiw!
I also 100% got sucked into the Alex Cooper doc as a non-fan and man did it deliver! Adding that lipstick to my cart, sounds perfect.
My must-read rec is always A Little Life (it will destroy you in the best way). Other recent novels that I still think about are Sorrow and Bliss by Meg Mason, We All Want Impossible Things by Catherine Newman, and Madwoman by Chelsea Bieker. Nonfic: I'll Show Myself Out by Jessi Klein (essays on motherhood and midlife, hilarious and poignant), Crying in H Mart by Michelle Zauner (mother/daughter memoir). Wow it's really fun to think about the many amazing books that have left their mark on me over the last decade (or two!)
I just knew that that link was for the Doen skirt! I, too, have been obsessing over it since last summer and just ordered it literally last week! It’s lovely. Truly better than the other white skirts out ther. Go for it. 😊
Favourite book of the year - The Safekeep - Yael van der Wouden. Honestly, I went in barely knowing the plot- would recommend going in blind. Set in 1960s Holland.
The Ministry for the Future by Kim Stanley Robinson - speculative fiction about how climate change could happen over the coming decades. It’s both sad and hopeful, and galvanising and empowering in the best way!
Some favorite books of mine (that I don't think have received the hype they deserve!): The Others' Gold by Elizabeth Ames, Like Mother, Like Mother by Susan Rieger, Yerba Buena by Nina Lacour, The Latecomer by Jean Hanff Korelitz, This Love by Lotte Jeffs, The Mothers by Brit Bennet, Free Food for Millionaires by Min Jin Lee, and These Impossible Things by Salma El-Wardany.
Thank you so much for having me!!

This is such a good list!!! I read Sandwich recently but am planning on going back to We All Want Impossible Things this summer too.
Downloaded the Novel Pairings podcast immediately!
Omg book recs are my fave! Gonna be glued to this comments.
recs based on books I recently read: Biography of X, Mobility and the Antidote.
Oh! Biography of X has been on my nightstand for awhile, ty!

Lol we must be on the same wavelength! Thank you for the encouragement/support/validation, ha!
My recommendation is "Dear America: Notes of an Undocumented Citizen" by Jose Antonio Vargas.
I read it in 2018 and still think about it. Plus, it's relatively short!
Definitely picking this up, thank you so much for the rec!
A book I think everyone should read: “A Thousand Splendid Suns” by Khaled Hosseini ❤️
Great book!!!

Wow, read a quick summary and sounds amazing! Why does it feel like I'm not hearing anyone else talk about it....
oh, and it just won the Women's Prize for Fiction!
