Links we sent our friends #67
Women's sports merch, a Florence Pugh profile, and what's trending this fall
Hi! How was your weekend? I (Aliza) was thrilled to take it easy and spend several hours cuddled up on a rainy Saturday night with Chase Me by Tessa Bailey.1
If you’re a new reader of the newsletter, welcome! Aja and I send two issues a week: a Monday round-up of links we’ve sent our friends and a Thursday personal essay, interview, or how-to piece.

Next weekend’s plan looks a bit different from this one. I’m headed to Brooklyn for my college best friend’s bachelorette — we’ll be eating our way through the city with a brief stop for massages at Bathhouse (dreamy, right?) Very excited about this top I rented for the Saturday night festivities!
Women’s sports meets cool merch.
Aja and I already put a watch party for Season 2 of this crowd favorite in our calendars. (Aja: Thanks
for the inspo!)A daily reminder that it’s going to be okay.
Cardigan season is coming! I’ve been looking here for the best colors… and here for the best price point.
Has anyone been to the Broadway Rave!? Absolutely devastated to be missing the tour stop in Boston next month.

I was in New York this weekend doing some non-white wedding dress scouting with my mom. (Aliza: Your behind-the-scenes dress photos made my weekend!) These adorable pictures of American Girl Place shoppers brought me back to earlier shopping trips. (If you ever had an American Girl Doll, you’re legally obligated to click.)
We went regular shopping as well and cleaned up during Madewell’s 25% off sale (still on!) I’m so excited to wear this skirt from the Alexa Chung collab — with ballet flats now and boots and tights when it gets colder. I also got these cool low-slung black pants, and my mom bought this cozy sweater in molasses.
AND we stopped by the Ilana Kohn closing sale. NYC friends, I highly encourage checking it out — I got a jumpsuit, jacket, and pair of jeans for just $230. And if you’re not in the area: Ilana herself was there and told me some incredible stuff was hitting the site at 30% off in the next few weeks.
British Vogue interviewed Florence Pugh, and she sounds both incredibly self-possessed and incredibly 28 (complimentary): “I believe that if magic is real, then it’s falling in love. And I am someone that loves falling in love.”
This 2002 Outside Magazine article about surfer girls in Maui inspired the movie Blue Crush. Fun!!
Sam and I swear by LMNT and Liquid IV for preventing hangovers, hydrating after workouts, etc. — but the cost adds up quickly. We just bought the ingredients to make it at home (based on the recipe on LMNT’s site): Just dissolve this and this into water, and you’re good to go.2
Question we asked our friends:
What fall trends are you most excited about this year??
I pulled myself away from Tessa Bailey’s sexy dream world for an hour on Saturday night to unpack my sweaters and do a quick closet refresh — which has me thinking about what I’ll add this season. Some of my favorite fashion Substackers,
and , are talking about suede.3 What do we think!? (Aja: Ooh, excited to read the answers to this one.)In case you missed it:
If you enjoy reading Platonic Love each week, there are a few ways to let us know: “like” this post, leave a comment, share Platonic Love, subscribe and/or upgrade to a paid subscription. Each of these means a lot. Thanks for reading!
Given the overwhelming response from last week… “Romance books for non-romance readers” book club details coming soon!
Obviously, I (Aja) am not a doctor or nutritionist.

“Incredibly 28” love that!! Wish I was that!!
Okay, LOVE the LMNT recs! I've been having one LMNT daily in my final weeks of pregnancy and want to continue in postpartum but dang it's expensive!! Definitely gonna try making my own version with your links above!
